If you've been to one of the Meatball & Wine Bar's outposts, you'd be ecstatic to learn about the opening of their third venture, Smithballs, smack bang on Smith St, Collingwood. Guests at the launch were treated to memorable food (small trays of charcuterie, paper bags of meat jerky and incredibly more-ish chicken sliders among the offerings) , and the introduction of Italian cocktails on tap, courtesy of the Negroni, created on site. The exposed-brick venue has just enough grunge to feel like it's a West Village dive, and just enough glam (a sign on the wall reads, "I am sorry for what I said when I was hungry," with the word "hungry" lit up in neon) to feel like the latest hipster haunt. There will be a return visit, to be sure.
