It had to be one of the most anticipated parties in Melbourne this year. There were rumours of the massive guest list, with a plane being chartered from Sydney to bring in VIPs from there. Local celebrities were lining up, and some couldn't get in, frantically calling upon connections to (unsuccessfully) secure their own invitation. An hour before, that corner in the CBD was a thrum of frenetic activity: lights, red carpet and a mass of photographers elbowing for position. Once inside, no one was leaving: there was food by Adam D'Sylva, cocktails by 1806 and deejays including LA trio Haim. Plus, a 20% discount, which guests took up happily.

Shiva Singam's outfit was an homage to the GPO building, wearing a postage stamp getup (with matching tote) by Carven.
