Yellowglen House with Samantha Wills at Turnbull Stakes Day

It was a proper warm-up for the main spring racing carnival days, when Yellowglen House, together with jeweller Samantha Wills, opened their doors for a special VIP party on Turnbull Stakes Day. The dazzling crowd were greeted by a dapper couple in gold and black - Yellowglen reps who will go around Flemington on the main race days, handing out golden keys to some lucky race-goers, who will gain VIP entry. (It's a public marquee but only selected race-goers gain access.)

The position of the marquee is hard to beat: situated right next to the Myer Fashions on the Field marquee, it sits on the lawn alongside the track, with uninterrupted views of the races. (Beat that, birdcage!)  This year and next, Australian jewellery designer Samantha Wills - who is based in New York - has partnered with Yellowglen as Style Director, and so is hosting Yellowglen House. Her fine touch showed everywhere: gorgeous flowers in abundance, bohemian-yet-elegant decor, and coveted jewellery subtly displayed in little corners, highlighting why she is a favourite of celebrities such as Drew Barrymore, Katy Perry and Rihanna, among others. (She also collaborated on Yellowglen's sparkling wine, Peacock Lane, together with Yellowglen winemaker Trina Smith.)

Want a ticket? Get in line. And frock up. It's like receiving a Wonka Golden Ticket - but it will be well worth it if you get in.
